Barry Truax compiled the annual Top Dog standings for the Canadian Kennel Club from 1988 to 2007. Thanks to Barry's hard work and attention to detail, the Top Dog awards were made possible for these years. We owe Barry a great deal of thanks for his hard work.

Barry Truax's Historic Top Dogs Database is now online and freely available for anyone to access. It documents all dogs that have won Best of Breed (and up) for the years 1988 – 2007, plus updates to 2015 for Terriers, in accordance with the CKC's Top Dog system. These pdf files (which can be searched in most browsers for any particular name or word) allow you to access all Best of Breed, Group and BIS records from that period, for instance, for specific dogs, kennel names or judges. In addition to the Top Dog standings, there are other statistics, including Single year record holders listing for each group and breed, complete from the beginning of the Top Dog system in 1963.
