| D. Scott Pfeil has been actively involved in the sport of purebred dogs for over thirty years. A sighthound
specialist, he has been successful in breeding and exhibiting Afghan Hounds, Greyhounds, Salukis, and Italian Greyhounds. He has bred or owned #1 dogs in each of these breeds and collectively his dogs have won over eighty All-Breed Bests in Show and countless specialties. Scott began judging in 2004 and is currently approved to judge all hounds as well as a selection of working and toy breeds. He has had the privilege of judging prestigious all-breed and specialty shows throughout the USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Germany, and Japan. Highlights include the AKC National Championship, the Afghan Hound Club of America National, and the Donaueschingen Sighthound Festival. Scott is a principal owner (along with Erika Wyatt) of the International Kennel Club of Chicago which hosts two major clusters of shows each year billed as The Great American Dog Show. He is also president of the Afghan Hound Club of America, vice-president of the Chicagoland Hound Association, and serves on the boards of the Northeastern Illinois Kennel Club and Greater Chicago Afghan Hound Club. |
